About BJI Airport
The Bemidji Regional Airport (BJI) is located in northern Minnesota, just south of the city of Bemidji. It is a small airport with two runways and a terminal building that serves both commercial and general aviation traffic. The airport is served by two airlines, Delta Connection and Mesaba Airlines, which offer daily flights to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). BJI is also home to a number of private aircraft and charter services.
The airport plays an important role in the regional economy, as it provides access to essential goods and services, including medical care and higher education. In addition, the airport supports tourism and business development in the region.
BJI was originally established as a general aviation facility in the early 1940s. However, commercial service began in 1968 with the arrival of Northwestern Airlines. In recent years, the airport has undergone significant expansion and improvement projects, including the construction of a new terminal building in 2006. Today, BJI is a vital part of the Bemidji community and continues to grow in importance as more and more people discover all that this beautiful region has to offer.
